Juno/Jona Biquet – The Strategist (either)
Wise, calculating, enigmatic.
J sees the game before it’s played, speaking in riddles and reading the law like scripture. The architect of the Triad’s plans, they manipulate outcomes with quiet precision. Detached but omnipresent, they are the unseen force shaping the family's future. Their advice is rarely questioned—perhaps because they already know what happens when it is. Here to consolidate and witness and perhaps use their ‘magic’ to help the family. J is the one that came up with the marriage/merger plan and firmly believes that this union is the only way for any of the families to survive, thus the best choice for the family. Even if Mal is not the dreamed successor.
Vera/Vero Demater – The Manipulator (either)
Nurturing, persuasive, ruthless.
V offers guidance, warmth, and a carefully placed hand on your shoulder—right before they turn you in the direction they choose. They understand people better than people understand themselves, ensuring Liv remains tethered to the Triad’s counsel. They don’t lie outright; they simply whisper the truth that benefits them most. Here to guide and support the merging process with all of their talents. V is of the opinion that Liv is the only one with enough power to keep the family together and she should not hand the reigns over any time soon.
Iris/Isar Juffer – The Executioner (either)
Fierce, impulsive, relentless.
I is the blade where J is the mind and V the voice. Their youth masks an edge honed by necessity, cutting away obstacles—legal, financial, or human—with cold precision. With words. They do not hesitate, do not regret. When I acts, it is already too late. Fines and bylines can be so much worse than death. Here to make sure punishment (on paper) is swift and just when needed. I thinks it is time to bring the family prominently into the future. With Gin firmly at the helm.
Duncan Goddaert – The Fallen Old Guard (he/him)
Respected, weary, sharp, fading.
A relic of a lost era, Duncan was once the Goddaert patriarch—until Vic took his place. Some say he stepped down; others say he was pushed. Now the family rises again, without him. Though worn by age and scandal, his mind remains sharp, and his voice still carries weight. Here to support his sister-in-law, he claims to support the transition, but many watch him with caution. Will he try to replace his brother?
No one is really sure of where his loyalty lies, other than to himself.
Yoann Meunier – Reluctant Enforcer (either)
Loyal, brutal, haunted, disciplined, simmering.
Once Seagate’s most feared enforcer, Yoann r built their legend eviscerating enemy’s goons—Goddeart and others—. Ruthless and efficient, they followed orders without question. During the raid they lost everything: their crew, their family, their purpose. Now, as insult upon injury, Seagate commands them to serve the new order. Bound by duty, they obey—but resentment lingers. They are here to prove unwavering loyalty to Seagate, surrounded by the kin of those they killed. Pretending everything has changed. And it makes their skin crawl. Yoann and Mal have always been close, despite of their affiliations and Yoann can’t help the feeling he is being set up to either betray the family he belongs to or the only friendly face he has left.
Rae Goddaert – The Next Generation (either)
Cautious, restless, observant, calculating, burdened.
Duncan’s child, is the specialist when it comes to data. Credit Card scams, ID theft, password procurement. Bulk sale, targetted, you name it. They know how to make the keyboard monkeys work for them for the brunt work and still enjoy the highly specialized tasks themselves. For Rae, nothing has changed. They will serve the family. Their family and if that includes the ‘new’ order that is fine. There are few people that understand what Rae does and how much money lands where. Here to make sure the virtual money keeps flowing the right way. To the family and a little to the side.
He is willing to invest some of his considerable private nest egg, providing it will help him to become more ‘legit’.
Gab Marchand – Conscience of the Family (either)
Stoic, wise, regretful, reserved, conflicted.
Once a trusted Goddaert consigliere, cousin Gab walked away after one betrayal too many. They swore off the family life, finding absolution in the church. Gab became a youth counselor at a local parish and gained quite some cloud. Enough to become an alderman in a midsized town. Now, they need Gab—their counsel, vast political connections. He reluctantly agreed to the invitation, hoping his support for Mal will weigh in on the family transitioning to more above board dealings. Gab hopes this move to reconciliation will not drag them back in or tarnish their reputation.
Quite a few family members appreciate his ability to listen without judgement and will want to hear his opinion about their plights.
Eliza Grunbronne – The Illegitimate Heir? (she/her)
Charming, dangerous, enigmatic, opportunistic, unstable.
A claim that could change everything. Eliza arrived out of nowhere, claiming a name that was never given to her. Goddaert. She claims to be Vic’s illegitimate daughter and if her mother looked and dressed anything like her, no one will be surprised to learn that is the truth. A true con artist at heart, she has no qualms to lie, cheat, betray and backstab to rise. Eliza was invited by the Renz family but what is she really after? Power? Revenge? Or is she a pawn in someone else’s game? Whether her blood is real or not, she’s already a problem. And she’s just getting started.
Dom Keller – In too deep (either)
Determined, patient, morally flexible, deeply invested, relentless.
Dom has spent over a decade working as an undercover agent, embedded deeply in the Goddaert’s affairs. The raid was their chance to leave, as they were ordered to, but still they stayed. Maybe because of unfinished business, maybe out of reluctant respect, maybe because Mal reminds them of who they were before they crossed the line or just to stay close to the Goddeart siblings, who have become ‘friends’. Here as the trusted Dark Web lackey, but never truly one of the family. Is Dom in too deep to go home? Has Dom become their own enemy?
(This character is about moral ambiguity and the dilemma of their secret, not about being hunted or found out. Dom has managed discovery for 10 years and there is no reason to assume that will change any time soon)
Ren Mercier – The Widow Maker (either)
Quiet, efficient, enigmatic, professional, deadly.
Usually a whisper in the dark, a shadow that delivers death. Ren operates with chilling precision: clean work, minimal collateral, and absolute discretion. Their loyalty to the Goddaerts is absolute, bought and paid for long ago. Their skills are diverse, ranging from precision marksmanship to close-quarters combat. Ren is not ‘ muscle’. In fact their sharp intellect might be far more lethal than any weapon they wield with their hands.
Ren speaks little, but their words gain weight in the right ears. They have few known connections, but one they like to keep hidden is one within the other families. Ren’s disdain for Moirai Ltd and its partners is a less well kept secret.
They are here because Liv Goddaert demanded their presence. Now the mystery is why she would bring her most deadly weapon to a gathering of tentative peace and remembrance…
